The Maclean Anglican Parish is situated on the mighty Clarence River on the coast in Northern NSW. It comprises of three churches: St. James, Maclean; St. Peter’s Iluka, and All Saints Yamba. Currently we are without a permanent Rector in this Parish. However, Rev.Canon Steve Clarke has been appointed as our Interim Locum.
Please read the NSW Health Department requirements “from the Diocese Under “Parish news” Please note that for the time being we are required to wear masks, to socially distance, and there can be no congregational singing during our services.
MACLEAN PARISH ACTION
∙ Appropriate signs outside our churches will notify people of the requirements under the NSW Public Health Order. These requirements must be strictly observed
∙ Everyone entering any of our church buildings for worship, aged 16 years or older, must be fully vaccinated, and this means having had at least two doses of a Government-approved vaccine.
∙ Please do not come to a church service (including funerals) if you are not fully vaccinated and are also able to prove your vaccination status. We are not allowed to take your word about your vaccination status. You must be able to provide official proof.
∙ Once you have provided proof of your vaccination status, it will be recorded, and you will not have to provide it again
There are circumstances when someone has a medical exemption from being vaccinated, and if this applies to you then you will also need to prove your exempt status before entering a place of worship. Anyone with such an exemption will have discussed this with their doctor and will have an official certificate of exemption.
Finally, please pray for each other and for our local community during this time of transition.
We encourage everyone to be fully vaccinated as soon as possible. Please speak your own health professional if you have any concerns about the safety of the available vaccines
The Op Shop will function according to the Diocesan advice, meaning that volunteers must be vaccinated, distancing regulations applied, and QR Code or manual check-in protocols followed.
We like to feel we have energetic and friendly churches which are keen to welcome everyone whether a visitor or from our local community. As well as our regular services, we also hold regular services at our three local retirement villages . From time to time we also participate in combined ecumenical worship with other churches in our region.
